Theme and Mission Statement

Islam: Our Faith. Our Voice.

At this year's New Horizons we would like to highlight the importance of unity through the celebration of our rich diversity. We will demonstrate a commitment to our nation without compromising our Islamic way of life. As the voice of the next generation of Muslim youth, we want to help lift young Americans to become extraordinary citizens of American society. This is our time to rise above the status quo and redefine what it means to be a Muslim-American.

About New Horizons

New Horizons is an annual Islamic conference that is designed to enlighten, empower, and awaken the Muslim youth by bringing quality speakers, live entertainment, and informative workshops all under one house. Unlike any other conference in New York, you don't want to miss out on this memorable and unforgettable event.

In the first year at Stuyvesant High School's Murray Khan Theater, we had a fantastic line-up of speakers including Imam Khalid Latif, Imam Shamsi Ali, and Imam Abdul Malik among others. The entertainment segment also featured Joshua Salaam of Native Deen, Muslim comedian Baba Ali, and performances by the youth. It was a resounding success with more than a thousand youth and their families.

With the astounding feedback and building momentum, this year, we are going full speed ahead. Our theme this year is "Islam: Our Faith, Our Voice." We are honored to have Brooklyn Technical High School, the second largest auditorium in New York City, host us this year in their large venue. We are also introducing a new feature: workshops. These parallel sessions will provide a specialized outlet for development with topics such as MSA building, college process, career building, and more.

Our generation of youth is experiencing extraordinary and historic times. New Horizons is a brilliant occasion for Muslim youth to stand together and rise up as a common, unified voice for the bright future ahead of them. More seats, more quality speakers, great entertainment, and featuring new workshops, New Horizons is going to be larger than ever.
